Job Description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:          

              

The Assistant Supervisor oversee day-to-day operations of their assigned line or area.  The lead will provide direction to team members to ensure the safe and effective execution of scheduled production. This position will report to the designated production Supervisor or Manager.

 

 

JOB TASKS AND FUNCTIONS

•            Be the Safety Champion for the Line or Area

•            Lead Daily Line Start-up and Line Operations

•            Complete all required documentation

o            1st Off Checklists

o            Hour by Hour Boards

o            Downtime Tracking

o            HACCP/SQF

•            Communicate issues to the assigned supervisor

•            Communicate issues to maintenance

•            Be the liaison between line workers and supervisors

•            Provide training to line workers

o            Safety

o            Quality

o            Machine Operation

o            Task

•            Trouble Shoot problems on the line and develop and execute appropriate actions

•            Be a problem solver – identify opportunities to improve and take actions and/or communicate ideas to supervision

•            Identify personnel performance issues and engage the supervisor in addressing

•            Participate as requested on various projects and/or Continuous Improvement Teams.

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS

 

•            Working knowledge of all Employee and Food Safety aspects of the line or area

o            Lock Out Tag Out

o            General Employee Safety

o            Emergency Evacuation

o            HACCP

o            SQF

o            GMP’s

•            Be able to read and comprehend production related documentation (requires the ability to read, write and communicate in English)

o            Production Memo’s

o            Standards of Work

o            1st Off Inspections

o            Downtime Tracking

o            Any other documentation

•            Demonstrated Leadership characteristics

•            Strong written and verbal communication skills

o            Good Listening Skills

•            Self-starter with demonstrated initiative

•            Is a proven team player both as a team member and a team leader

•            Demonstrated problem solving skills

•            Mechanical aptitude and full understanding of operations within his/her assigned area

•            Basic computer skills including the ability to enter data into a computer or other electronic device

 

 

Pay Rate: $21.00-$24.00 DOE

Schedule: 1st shift-5:00AM Start Time- End Time depending on productions needs

2nd shift-1:00PM Start Time- End Time depending on production needs

Days-Monday-Friday however depends on production they must be flexible with working on weekends.
