Title: Machine Operator (cut-to-length strap operator)

Main Purpose of Job

Individual is responsible for operating a winder/machine of straps cut at a specific length.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret written instructions, shop orders, and basic blueprints.

• Operate, select and monitor programs for various materials and lengths.

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance tasks of equipment safely and efficiently.

• Change pallet boxes, and re-feed strap into machines.

• Maintain and document machine parameters by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, and testing product off the line

• Observant of all quality standards as provided.

• Completion of quality shift reports and forms for the finished product in the appropriate time intervals.

• Remove finished product from machine: package coils, palletize boxes, print labels and write move tickets.

• Help team leaders and technicians with configurations changes, basic maintenance, and equipment setups.

• Communicating with suppliers & the maintenance team at headquarters and keeping track of machine spare parts.

• Practice daily housekeeping of machines, equipment and plant environment.

• Operate a forklift and assist in pallets of finished goods movement and handling.

• Crosstrain in the tool repair process and assist the tool repair technician when needed.

• Support the warehouse operations as a backup, when needed.

Experience

• 1- 3 years of manufacturing and basic maintenance experience

Technical skills

• Possess good math skills and excellent dexterity.

• Problem solving/troubleshooting and multitasking skills.

• Time management skills and great flexibility.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Stand 80 -90% of the workday.

This position will report directly to the Warehouse Team Leader

Location

This position is based in our Sturtevant, Wisconsin location

Pay

$18-20 based on experience
