The Quality Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks including performing audits of facilities and processes for compliance and inspect product weights and lengths. This position will work in the plant and lab.

• Ensure compliance to all regulatory standards including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), SSOP’s (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures), etc.
• Maintain full compliance with the Metal Detection Program and associated requirements
• Maintain full compliance with internal SOPs while maintaining integrity on designated paperwork
• Conduct quality audits such as third party audits, customer audits, and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance of the Traceability and Recall Management Systems
• Maintain full compliance with the Environmental Monitoring Program
• Manage and perform pre-operational and operational sanitation inspections
• Calibrate lab equipment and navigate troubleshooting if applicable
• Enter and manage information into an Excel spreadsheet and internal data management system
• Perform Chemical Analysis Testing for product as required
• Complete pre-shipment review and maintenance as required
• Diligently communicate any and all quality events/issues found within the facility
• Collaborate with site and departmental leaders in an effort to develop and maintain the most efficient quality assurance procedures for respective areas.
• Generate ideas to improve quality procedures and participates in development and implementation of new policies, procedures and/or programs.
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as required and/or assigned

A minimum of six months to one-year experience in the Food industry or in a related position.
HACCP certified. SQF certified.
Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and intermittently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while moving product and/or packaging. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and near vision and the ability to see color. Depth perception is required to move around departments and supplies. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
